There more to the Call of duty hate than just the user base surrounding it. It also how it just the same gameplay over and over again and how the Publisher fired the original creators and are now over looking the games instead of the developers. I have to wonder if Fraser looks at news related to the game’s lifespan.
I just dislike the mechanics of the game. Too fast and too unresponsive with hit detection. And to be quite honest…the story just doesn’t catch me at all. It is fun for a bit in local multiplayer but I just want to then go back to Conduit 2 or TF2…
I don’t judge games for the controversy surrounding them. I would have hated Fez if that is how I measured a game worth. The proof is in the pudding, and it is a subjective taste, because what you find repetitive I hardly do.
Thats true but you have to wonder how long that pudding going to keep tasting good. Weird analogy, I know :P The repetitiveness isn’t from the gameplay really but from the many years that type of game has been release as it is getting into the same situation WW2 games were getting into.
You only sketch the surface of Fez and how it incredible. What makes Fez so great, besides it puzzles, and the way it gotten so popular is similar to how Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls got popular, by getting the Internet community together to help each other out on how to play and solve the game mechanics.
BTW if you like checkout the Show and Trailer thread as it has some videos of upcoming games that you may like if you haven’t already looked at it.
FunFact: Last of US takes place in the Uncharted 3 universe. It is proven because in the newspaper in the pub of chapter 1 in U3 you see a newspaper that says something along the lines of “Fungus mutations out of control”

Hey, Fraser. You know that idea you mentioned at the end where the mods would inform you and the audience of important facts during the E3 live show? You need to do that for everything.
Heh some foo’ defending Blip saying fullscreen doesn’t have black borders. All it took was for me to move the mouse into the black border right then and there to verify he was full of crap.
I don’t know if you found out about dark already, but anyway i’ll share my info.
So.. it’s been developed by Realmforge and it’s a stealth-action based third-person game.
It’s for PC and XBOX360
So basically you’re a vampire and during the game you will make use of several different
vampire skills, stealth and combat abilities.
The game is set in the near future and it hopes to mix action and role playing with detailed
and deep story. It should be released early 2013.
Basically this copied text will tell you about the game:
“DARK is a stealth action game with RPG elements that lets you slip into the role of the ultimate killer… a vampire. Stalk you enemies from the shadows then use powerful vampire abilities to attack and silently dispatch them! The exciting story of DARK immerses you in a world full of blood and darkness in which the hunter can become the hunted at any time. As you unravel the mystery behind the global conglomerate that seems omnipresent and all-powerful, continually improve your character by developing powerful skills to aid you in remaining unobserved, or make quick process of those unfortunate to take too keen an interest in you.
Features of DARK:
-Stealth and action combine as players walk the world in darkness and silence, attacking their unsuspecting foes with supernatural fury
-Use powerful vampire abilities and hard-hitting melee attacks to defeat dangerous enemies — turn into a puff of smoke and disappear, or close with your foes in an instant!
-Powerful and intelligently controlled AI enemies mix the fantastic with the real-world. Battle police and elite special forces along with ghouls and other vampires
-Castles, museums, skyscrapers, nightclubs and more are rendered in stunning 3D cel-shaded graphics, beckoning the player to explore — but beware, powerful enemies hide everywhere
-RPG element mix with a compelling story – players will build up their skills through successful evasion and combat, while advancing the story through conversations with NPCs”
What an emotional rollercoaster of a show. I’ve watched them react to “I just bought… an ukeleleh!!!” about 20 times. Played some Kill Fun Yeah yesterday with a few people and it was great fun.
With regards to COD I do play the games before I judge them, I wouldn’t attack MW3 because I haven’t played it (and I don’t think I’d have the heart to hate the game that gave us MLG Fraser even if I had played it). Some people hate the games cos they barely changes gameplay wise and I get that, it doesn’t bother me, I think the COD games are some of the most well designed shooters out there, they feel so smooth to play, nowadays I tend to get them, stick on a podcast or some music and play through them on mute. Black Ops really really wound me up because of the story, I was playing on mute (albeit with subtitles) and saw the ending coming about six missions in, fair play to them for trying out a new setting and timezone and all but it was just an atrociously done. I also don’t think Fraser is giving the first Modern Warfare enough credit storywise, that game tried some very interesting things with it’s story and managed to pull it off without jumping the giant ice gauge (read: shark). Each to their own though, I’m sure Black Ops 2 will be a fun game to watch on the show.
The Four Horsemen in Revelation are actually Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. For some reason pop culture usually switches out Conquest for Pestilence.
Hey Fraser, the lullaby roughly translates to “Sleepy Sleepy Sleepy Sleepy, don’t lie/sleep on the edge, the big grey wolf will come, and bit your little bum.”
Weird how when something fucked up happens in Thunder Humor, Kyle is the only one not desensitized by so he actually looks disturbed while everybody else is grinning from ear to ear.
metro 2033 is one of the best story-based FPS’ I’ve played, because the story is based off of a book. also Fraser, theres only like 2 pneumatic weapons in the game. the rest are normal weapons.
So after playing the demo of the spiderman game on 3DS I can say; If it is even badass on there how much more bad ass will it be on PS3!?
The combat is like Arkham City..except it isn’t shit! It is far more fast paced and you have a quite a few more options you can immediately do in combat as opposed to Arkham City, The moves are way more cool looking and it is far more fast paced overall. Can’t wait for the full game.
Also from what I’ve played with the web swinging your not specifically locked into the circles that appear. They’re more of the areas that are special (let you immediately get onto a wire for example) but you’re still free to sling around not aiming at the circles.

E3 Live is gonna be awesome, hope your connection holds the streams though…..The Nintendo one is on TV so that’s neat.
One last thing: KYLE IS MANDATORY!

Kyle IS mandatory, if he isn’t on the stream then I will send a strongly worded letter to Ikea, or wherever he works. 8D
