My internet cut out half way through so I’m glad to see it up so quickly. Thank you! :D

Every time I hear that heavy breathing I imagine DArth Vader standing at the end of the corridor.

Oh poor Becky…she looks so terrified.

I won’t lie – Silent Hill playthrough is incredibly dull and boring to watch.
Also there is barely anything you can make jokes about (Compare this to Heavy Rain).
Maybe I have never really played the game, but it definitely doesn’t do good to a show if these incredibly long and on the other hand boring games are being played.
Borderlands II is very repetitive as well btw.
I just don’t want you to become another show where only every other episode has any value for a person who spends time on it. (same happened to SpoonyOne, Nostalgia Critic.. they jsut stopped delivering the fun)

Well, VGA does stream constantly, and they do a variety of games. I, for one, don’t care too much about Minecraft, though others love those episodes. If you find one particular game uninteresting, then skip those episodes. There’s a plethora of material to view at any given time.
IbunWest said on October 18, 2012
I have commented before how I found certain episodes repetitive; but I never blamed the show. And ultimately the most recent instance (Deadly Premonition episode 2) was my own fault because I missed the very beginning where he said he was only going to be doing side mission stuff.
I can totally empathize with not being interested in certain games. Heck I even agree that this playthrough hasn’t exactly been thrilling. There was that period where they had Mass Effect 2, Witcher 2, and Max Payne 3 in rotation. None of those games interested me at all, so I skipped quite a few shows. Doesn’t mean I didn’t come back, because I knew eventually they would start playing something else. The fact is, not every show is going to appeal to all fans.

I am not really complaining.
I am a fan. I have seen almost everything, have been with them from the beginnings.
Also as of yet there of course is overwhelming amount of interesting games, opposed to less interesting. I also understand that some games have nostalgic value blah blah. (if you start playing Dave 2 or Doom (well.. more than a few minute cut of deacon being shot), it would be nice)
I am just afraid of it, so it doesn’t become sort of a downwards spiral for the entertainment value of the show. t’sit.
As for MAss effect – well, the first part was fun, the ME 2 was less, but since I played the game through just because I first saw it on the show, I can’t really complain.
But yes – jokes and commentary from the team is the most essential part why I find this show interesting. So when there is nothing to speak about, even the greatest comic in the world will keep silent.
Minecraft varies from episode to episode, but on average it is quite entertaining. Maybe less without themed builds.
Silent Hill, Borderlands, AC, post/gaming convention/, Indie games, Team Fortress – relatively boring
Walking dead – for now – awesomely entertaining.
Oh, sports games have been fun so far – NHL, 3on3 hoskey and those basketball games. Why not make few more?
etc.

Yes!I was waiting for this to come out.

That scream Becky let out was magnificent. I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone react that way to this game (besides KBM, who screamed at everything in his playthrough).

I’m amazed how good SH2 has been holding up. It realy isn’t that bad.
captclooless said on October 18, 2012
You know, at least for movies like Saw it makes sense to have inane puzzles and such, but there is NO point for it in this game. I know its part of the horror style, but it’s REALLY annoying.
I mean, really? Hair? It couldn’t at least be string that a key was tied up in or something?
Also, is it just me, or is Laura’s voice acting the best in the game?
2-D said on October 18, 2012
It’s good because her voice actor was an actual little girl, unlike the new voice over for the HD rerelease where they got some HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE anime voice actress.

Are there parts still to be uploaded?
It kind of just stops after the horseshoe puzzle
Yora said on October 18, 2012
Damn, that Clock puzzle is so damn obvious! I had it figured out when seeing the three names on the wall as a close up, even before they looked at the book or the clock face.
All the time I want to scream “Scars, Fraser! Scars!!!”

Oh man More loud mountains! I like how Fraser calls that wimpy kick the “Mighty Kick Of Doom” makes me feel like a closer friend to farshar…then I recall that I hate him and dont feel like he is my friend. Anyways love the episode. Keep it up gang!
KaitoKid said on October 18, 2012
Becky screaming was the best.
But where is the last part?
SolidRevolver said on October 18, 2012
Its funny seeing Fraser calling out the wax/horseshoe puzzle. There are point and click games out there that would end up making him legit kill a man in anger…
It was a different era back then, some would say a time when the game didn’t hold your hand, or patronise you by telling you that the left stick controls your character. There is a great episode of Sequelitis on Megaman that talks about that subject. A good game will spell out the exact method of doing anything, a great game will subtly hint at its features and how to do them via gameplay.
I understand Fraser’s frustration as he is making a show, but most of us aren’t. And a lot of us want to play a game with puzzels that make us think outside the box a little without the game seeing you stand still for 30 seconds, panic and spell the whole puzzle out for you. Hell, Resident Evil 6 has a 10-15 second cutscene every time you enter a room, showing you how to complete it. :S
chiffa said on October 18, 2012
That’s absolutely true, but that juice puzzle still is dumb as hell, and it was dumb in 2001. I remember actually reading the walkthrough and going “You’ve got to be kidding me”. SH 2 is one of my favourite games, but I can see how it hasn’t aged well gameplaywise and has some pretty stupid stuff in it.
IbunWest said on October 18, 2012
That is a fair point to make. I think the key difference is, with the setting and all that is going on in Silent Hill 2, being on edge makes you a bit more irritable, thus this kind of thing would annoy you more. Couple that with, as you pointed out, he is running a show where he doesn’t really want to spend a bunch of time figuring out puzzles and it leads to annoyance.
This is also why, as much as I love point and click games, I think they’d be terrible for the show.

Aw, no VGA: King’s Quest V?

Becky’s scream was hilarious. I’m so annoyed that I slept through this and missed the show.

So, I guess it’ll be “In Water”.

Notics said on October 19, 2012
Ah yes, Becky’s scream, one of the best moments of VGA. It will be remembered fondly. In case anyone wants to jump straight to the scream, start at 15:48 for a good lead up to the scream.
During this episode, I found myself agreeing with Fraser with the puzzles. That head rotating/ room puzzle is nothing but trial and error and that’s not a real puzzle that’s just busy guess work.

Can NOT wait for the next episode of Silent Hill 2. Sadly, I have no choice…
smith said on October 20, 2012
Of course, Shattered Memories has none of these silly puzzles. And has a bigger focus on character and, say, user interaction. Like this show is perfect for.
But of course, I’m sorry, it’s clearly not as good as Silent Hill 2, carry on.
smith said on October 20, 2012
Sorry, that came off more spiteful and sarcastic than I intended.
oidisco said on October 22, 2012
Yea I agree that Shattered Memories would be so much better for the show than SH2 is (even though I’m really enjoying their playthrough).
Anyways I think the main reason people prefer SH2 is because it is a much scarier game. For as great as a Shattered Memories playthrough would be, we’d never get epic moments like Becky’s little freakout.

Game Creator: “I got a great idea for Silent Hill 2. Instead of it being silent lets fill it with constant spooky sounds and forget the hill, holes are the next big thing!” (In all seriousness though this show was Awesome!)
