I have been a part of this community for a long time, I was hooked on the show when they first released Let’s Play Ballerina, stayed mostly as a lurker up until about half a year ago (I think) where I joined the turbo club after saving up money for a long time. I may not be the most vocal of members in this community but I guess I am proud to be amongst it.

When I can make a livestream, I’ll be there in an instant. I may not have the funniest quips in the chat, join in most of the memes that have been produced from this show or draw the best fan arts (though I was really happy when they showed my drawing of Sally Big Boobs Mcgraw) or whatever, but I can safely say that I’ve enjoyed it all.

My reason for this thank you is that… When I first watched VGA, I wasn’t exactly going through the greatest periods in my life. I suffer from depression, mostly due to being bullied my whole life and basically… VGA helped me get through college and into university, doing a course that will hopefully make my life better and get me my dream job of being a games developer.

Every show gives a smile to my face, it helps to cheer me up and I’m not sure why. I guess it’s because of the fact that there is such a friendly atmosphere both on the show and within the community that it’s invigorating to me and inspires me to draw ideas that I’ve never done before.

So to everyone on the show and everyone in the community, a big thank you.

Oi! Thank YOU theglaz! I’ve been feeling so dejected from the comments lately. It’s so much easier to say criticisms, than positives I think. And sometimes people don’t think to say the good things. I’m glad you’re enjoying the show, and best of luck becoming a game developer! You made my day man.

I almost wish you wouldn’t read the forums because of this. You’ll get a lot of complaining simply because people like doing it.

Also good for you theglaz, I’m glad you like it here.

For the record I like it here too. I joined the turbo club in July of last year and have not regretted it once. There is a reason I spend every day in the twitch chat and the VGA IRC you know (and I have been for well over a year).

It’s great to see a thread like this pop up. I was in quite the same position as thegalz just last year VGA really helped me when I was feeling down and just overall terrible in my last year of college(interestingly enough a Game Development course). I basically use none of my turbo privileges but gladly donated to this great show so it can continue to make great episodes and help entertain many more people.

Keep up the great work you guys : )

Seems like a good time for me to give you a big thank you as well; I don’t want to go all into details but literally everything in my life went to #$%^^ for a while there. Job, school, family (relationships, and deaths, and sickness), relationship went #%^%$ and left me with legal issues to boot bc of issues he and his kids had…oh and I’m 28 and struggled with depression since high school….the point is that right when I hit this absolute low both in real life and in my mood; your show helped me through so very many sleepless nights. It sounds silly I suppose, but I’d put VGA on and not feel so alone. And later, the community you helped create gave me faith to…well, it sounds dramatic again, but faith to attempt to trust people again.

I’ll apologize again; I’m doing much better now and I really loathe sounding dramatic. But I also don’t want to downgrade what your show and this community did for me when I really really needed it. And continues to do. I sincerely believe you guys are doing something amazing even if it’s just supposed to be a gaming show, and from people I’ve talked to; I’m NOT the only one who thinks that.

All the best to you and the rest of the group, and I really mean that. You didn’t know it at the time, but there was a very very depressed and burnt out girl whose life started changing for the better once she found your show. I still had to do a lot of work myself of course; but I credit you guys and this community as the ones who got me out of my bubble. No….better than that, as the ones who first started reminding me that I even WAS stuck in an antisocial bubble and it was high time I started remembering the kind of person I was before I let myself get all beat up and started giving up.

It really does make me upset to see how mean spirited some people can be towards the show. VGA means a lot to me and it’s been nice to see that I’m not alone in feeling so strongly.

When the show first came along I’d just lost my job, my girlfriend and a lot of my friends had moved away after college. I had really bad depression but VGA helped me so much by giving me something to look forward too and giving me a sense of belonging to the community. So much hard work goes into the show from everyone that I have the utmost respect for the crew.

It’s not the first time I give my thanks but since it’s a topic for it…

I went back to College about 2 years ago and I’ll tell you that it’s not something easy for an adult to do considering how we live in a capitalist society. I’m trying to do something with my life while getting full of debts. It’s probably the only time I wish I wasnt living in Canada but in those country where you are paid to study instead.

But at least there are 3 (sometime 5) peoples bringing a smile to my face for a few hours and almost daily. Even when I wasn’t a Turbo or registered on this website, I somehow felt like I was hanging out with 5 other friends playing games.

I want to keep it short since I always start rambling so Thank you Fraser, Becky, Ben, Kyle and Deacon. I hope that you will keep us entertained for many many years. And don’t take the bad comments too hard, the show is getting bigger and bigger so there’s more and more people that won’t like it too but there will always be even more that love it!

Don’t let us get to you Becky, much like you guys and Phoenix Wright, a lot of us just pick apart small things that we don’t like cuz we love the show. I think most of us are probably a little used to the internet being a place where we discuss and argue about our favorite shows and movies, internet celebs, we sometimes forget how close you guys are to us off of the show too. Sometimes we forget you guys are just normal people like us. But we all (well most of us I think) wouldn’t still be here if we didn’t enjoy what you guys do.

It’s funny how often I actually watch you guys. You’ve kinda become a small but big part of my life. I wonder how many hours of my life have been spent watching you guys just hang out and play video games. That sounds kinda creepy actually.

I can’t say my life has been at any particular low point, but you guys definitely improve my mood. So glad I started watching you guys.

Yeah, you guys actually gave me something to look forward to every night after a hard day, and I hope you will never stop!

Now THIS is what I’m talking about. ^_^

VGA helped me through my most stressful times during senior year, and meeting lots of people from the Turbo Club has definitely enhanced my gaming and internet experience ^_^

No matter how down I feel, I know I can watch a VGA recorded or live show for a laugh and good times.
