Hi guys, so my build idea got approved and I’m going to be on the edge of the sky build so I’ll be able to build out and up/down until I run out of room or resources, and this is where you guys come in. If you’re willing to donate some resources I will build a balloon with you in mind, or your community. Wool of any color is appreciated for general donations, but if your build requires a rarer block (like lapis blocks, diamond, gold or iron blocks, etc) then you need to provide all of it. I still haven’t refilled my reserves of ores from the colliseum build so I can’t really use any on your balloon. Sorry.
Anyway, once the portal opens, I will be leaving a field of chests under my build site, unlocked. Each one will have a sign in it. Bring your supplies and load it into an empty chest (each balloon, not including the basket which I’ll supply the stuff for, requires ten stacks of material to build), take the sign and put your name next to the chest. Then come here and post some ideas about what you would like your balloon to be.
With few exceptions, all the balloons will be the same shape, it’s just the coloration that will differ. Some balloons can have some extras, but they need to be kept small (so, for example, if neko wants one, I could make some cat ears at the top.). Generally, any protrusions will be kept to 4 blocks from the balloon itself.
If possible, I can try and put faces on them, but mostly it’s better to come up with some sort of icon or symbol for yourself or others. In my case, I’ll probably put the faces of a dice on the outside of my personal one.
Oh, and each balloon will have a sign (well, probably four, one on each side so fraser won’t have to hunt for them) stating who each balloon represents. I cannot guarentee however that he will check each balloon or any balloon. It depends on the timing of the show. I will be doing my darndest to make sure all are visible though.
June 9, 2012 at 9:32 pm #36558I’d love a balloon! I’ll guess I’ll go get some more wool.
Question, are you using wood for the baskets?
June 9, 2012 at 11:17 pm #36573The baskets consist of 13 wood blocks, four wood stairs, and 16 fence posts. But I’ll be supplying them.
Also, I forgot to mention, there’s a sample one on display in troll rend out of smooth sandstone. I’ll probably build another sample one on the ground near the chests first so people can see the, and then move on

June 10, 2012 at 9:35 am #36625I would be happy to give you some wool for this but if you need any help building it just tell me and i can help with that also.
June 10, 2012 at 10:45 am #36642You know, I like this idea. I would like a balloon for myself. I’ll see what I can do about collecting the wool.

June 11, 2012 at 7:22 pm #36983Go through the white “bananaz” portal near the main sky build portal.
June 11, 2012 at 7:38 pm #36986He said something about building at the end of the course. And at the moment I think they’re supposed to be marking off the other builds first.
Anyway, I’m at the sample balloon at the build with a load of wool. And I can bring some more once I drop this load off as I made up a bunch of several colors to donate. Don’t know where to drop it off though. And unfortunately, he logged off right as I arrived at the island.
June 12, 2012 at 3:49 pm #37088Items donated!
I would like a cyan colored balloon with green spade shaped leaves with black veins. Sort of like the grass energy from pokemon, but in reverse color.
June 13, 2012 at 4:53 am #37163Donation chests up. I’ll be posting the balloon designs when i get home from work so anyone can build there own. If you already submitted an idea/wool and want me to build it though, i’ll still do it
June 13, 2012 at 5:24 am #37167I made my drops and here’s a design I was toying with for a Northridge balloon.

Black: 2 rows above the basket
Dark Grey: 2 rows
Light Grey: 1 row
Blue: 2 row
Red: 1 rows
Dark Red: 2 row
Orange: 1 rows
Green: 6 rows
Orange: 1 row
Dark Red: 1 row
Red: 1 row
Blue: 1 row, fill completely for the topNote: This design is 2 rows shorter than the test balloon design, which I actually made wrong. It’s too tall at the top

I have been stuck with massive cases of lag and responsability these past two weeks and he produced not only a half dozen balloons! He’s also the one that managed to get your balloons done, so when you see him, give him some thanks.
