Hey everyone, we’ve all have discovered the VGA live shows one way or another, had to try out the chat, and talk to fellow viewers. This forum is about the first experiences you’ve had with the live shows and the chat, share away……
July 5, 2012 at 9:16 pm #41047one of the best time for me was after i left during a show all the chat people said goodbye to me
what was funny was how fraser and the gang were momentarily bamboozled as to why i was so popular that a whole bunch of the chat people said goodbye to me a whole bunch that was some good timesJuly 6, 2012 at 6:17 am #41078I’ve been a fan of VGA since the beginning because of my love of AVG and remember when Everybody was getting pumped about the first LIVE VGA which was the live Earthbound fan gamer thing. And since I’m from Ireland I had to stay up till about 2 A.m (something I’ve gotten used to over the last year ) And chat that day was CRAZY no mods or anything. It was all fangamer run anyway so it was Frashers fault but I remember people spamming the shit out of the chat. It was around the time Deacon fans were everywhere so the chat was like “DEACON GIVE ME A SHOUTOUT” and “DINGERS” were EVERYWHERE! Ah good times, good times.
July 6, 2012 at 7:42 am #41082I first saw the show on That Guy With The Glasses, it was either the Reach episode or the RDR Poker episode. They didn’t really become a blip on my radar, but I eventually started watching their Minecraft videos after I heard so much talk about it and wanted to find out more about the game.
My first live show was the demo for Sonic Generations.
July 6, 2012 at 9:08 am #41092On TGWTG I saw a mention of VGA doing Earthbound. I didn’t even know what VGA was at the time, but I made sure to catch it live. Earthbound is still my favorite RPG of all time.
I fell in love when they started doing voices, especially with Ben’s famous “HUG!” and then “Damn you, live internet!” Ben was really funny, and then they announced he was leaving. I almost decided to quit watching the show when he left, but I’m glad I didn’t.

July 6, 2012 at 9:10 am #41094My experience is the same as Nagul’s, I didn’t really take full interest until their minecraft episodes; when they announced their server, I was starting to fall out of playing minecraft and wanted a really good multiplayer server to play on.
July 6, 2012 at 2:53 pm #41145I found VGA, like many, on TGWTG. My first episode was the Guilty Party one. After that I went back to watch all their previous videos, and then months pasted and I forgot about them. Then one day I noticed their Portal playthrough and after watching I fell in love again and the rest is history. I don’t remember what game they played on the first live show I attended, but all I remember is I didn’t know anything about how the chat worked, what Mods were, and I was really awkward and shy. One conversation I remember having was when Justin.tv had two seporate chats and I kept getting stuck in what was known as limbo chat. After refreshing many times, I ended up in the normal chat, but still didn’t think I was out of limbo chat. I was really paranoid, for some reason, with one of the Mods and some chatters, when asking if they were really sure that we weren’t in limbo chat. We ended going back and forth abit before I believed them.

July 6, 2012 at 5:43 pm #41176I also found VGA through TGWTG.
I was checking what was new on the site and I saw a video about Portal 2. I never had given VGA a chance before this because I usually find lets plays to be meh so I didn’t bother checking them out. I ended staying up past 3 am watching and have been hooked ever since.July 6, 2012 at 5:57 pm #41182My First live show was The First one, Earthbound. It was an eventful night. Having a chat appear on screen was pretty cool because I hadn’t seen that done before. I said a few things but It was quite hectic with no Mods. The moments I always remember were the Overwhelming popularity of Deacon, the brief introduction of Becky behind the camera, the announcement of Ben leaving and the resulting debate on getting someone new on the couch. From what I recall Fraser’s reactions suggested he hadn’t planned on replacing Ben with Becky until a lot of us in chat suggested it. We didn’t really know at the time what a big impact that would end up having.
July 6, 2012 at 9:50 pm #41223I watched them on TGWTG when they did short episodes of the highlights, but they put out the Mortal Kombat episode on a day I had nothing to do so I watched all of it and became interested in their work. I started watching all the other episodes and the first live show I caught was Duke Nukem Forever. I watched through out the summer and fall and became a Turbo in early December. Love the show and don’t see myself ever getting tired of it.
July 7, 2012 at 10:20 pm #41458Found them on TGWTG, started watching live on the early Minecraft shows, got whitelisted on the server not long after the old west show. Good times.

July 7, 2012 at 11:17 pm #41462Like everyone I found them on TGWTG and BListered Thumbs. I had just watched their Portal playthrough, and I saw a link that said a Portal 2 playthrough was happening like the next day. I tuned in that day, and I absolutely loved watching the show live. I’ve stuck around ever since.
July 8, 2012 at 2:31 am #41481Found VGA through AVG on TGWTGs. Still remember the first episode I saw was Dr Mario when it was posted (April 2010), thought it was a cool thumbnail, checked it out and there has been no looking back. Didn’t see the Earthbound show live as I was still getting through all of the AVG/VGA before that. The 5th Year Anniversary aka start of live show era was my first.
July 8, 2012 at 2:59 am #41486Well after waiting forever for new AVG I was surprised to see a new show called “VGA” It has a cool concept have you guys seen it? (circa 2009)
July 8, 2012 at 5:14 pm #41564I love reading these first experience type things :) They’re fun!
