Check this interesting bit of lore out:  http://www.teamfortress.com/gray/

A third son of Zepheniah Mann absconded by EAGLE? Also, anybody else think that there may be some clues as to an upcoming update in this image? There is a date that’s yet to pass: September 2nd, a promo does end close to that date.

    Yea, I was thinking September 2nd at 6:22pm (18:22).

interesting. I don’t see any other clues on that page. My guess is that Grey introduces the grey class to team fortress, which would be the robots Valve added to the game files a while back.

Something I noticed: there is a third individual on the edge of this Mann family photo, and in the lore, Radigan Canagher built a third life-extending machine for an unnamed person. It’s here in one of the frames of the Loose Cannon comic:

    “July 17th, 1894
    Built for Blutarch Mann

    August 3rd, 1894
    Built for Redmond Mann

    April 14th…
    Built for…. ”

Also, Zepheniah left stuff to an unknown person in his will and swore them to utmost secrecy.

According to this blog, giant industrial rovers were added in the background of four levels (2fort, Badwater, Doublecross, Granary), and the name “Gray” appears in “Gray Gravel Co.” signs and “Senator Mitchell Gray” at the Poopy Joe hearing.

That “Built for…” in the comic has a small piece of the first letter of the individual’s name: it is a curved top of a capital letter (like a G).

picture of the “carrier tank” that was added yesterday and ramrod was talking about http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/File:Carrier_Tank_Granary.png

Seems that Team Fortress is getting more and more futuristic

Just a thought:  Mann is an Englishman.  Relations between US and England in 1822 were not exactly friendly (Scourge of London).  Also Eagle = Symbol for US.  That would explain Gray becoming a Senator…

Edit: Turned to ramrod – “Why would the US take a Mann-baby?” …  Mannbaby….

    Another observation:

If Gray Mann was taken to the US in 1822, then he would have been 26 in 1848. Now, what huge historical event happened in 1848? The California Gold Rush. Where was all the gold found? River beds and land very rich in gravel. What did Zepheniah Mann hope to find in America? Gravel. What company has the name Gray attached to it? A gravel company. What state is Senator Gray from? California.

So, if Senator Gray actually IS Gray Mann, Valve did its research…

    Valve always does it’s research

Sounds like the announcement of the robots or maybe when we will hear the next info.
    Remember the capacitor after all.
The diary and capacitor may also be revealed at these times.

The will of Zepheniah Mann has been found, and the previously unreadable text has been revealed: http://www.teamfortress.com/mannwill/  Gray tried to blackmail his father for a secret gravel cache.

Also, the capacitor is now an item you can equip.

“The smaller set of numbers along the bottom of the capacitor read 07180125. When split into four and translated into letters (A = 1, B = 2, etc), it reads “GRAY“”

    :O
