I’m in the Central time zone so I’m only two hours ahead of them. I’m in High School and we just got out for summer break so I have loads of free time. I can generally catch every show. I wish everyone could catch the show though. :(
December 2, 2012 at 11:46 pm #62747I used to watch live shows a lot when I lived in the UK since most were around 2am and it didn’t interfere with my work schedule at the time. However, since moving back to Vancouver last August I find myself unable to watch very often, which is frustratingly ironic given that the gang is also in Van! Watching the recorded vids is always fun too, since Farshar posts updates all the time and keeps us up to speed, but it’s never the same as catching a live show. I managed to catch a bit of the ac2 finale today though which made me happy. I miss stuffing my face with junk under the blankets on my sofa watching at 2am though sometimes…although my stomach is likely grateful for the hiatus.
December 2, 2012 at 11:53 pm #62748I could have sworn I answered this topic when this thread was new. Oh well. I’m a college student in The Netherlands. Due to various reasons my sleep schedule is completely FUBAR’ed so I usually watch the early shows. The late ones are at like 4am for me so I put those on from Youtube while I’m studying. It’s surprisingly effective. It drowns out background noise and it’s funny to boot.
December 3, 2012 at 12:11 am #62751I have a relatively full time job so can’t really watch live shows on weekdays though sometimes catch the tail end of an episode.
On weekends, I usually play a game on mute while listening to the show while chatting with the chat. (Got a neat program to keep certain windows always on top)
Multitasking for the win!
December 3, 2012 at 12:26 am #62757@sg1oneill Ooooh! What software is that? I’ve been looking for software that does that for a while.
December 3, 2012 at 12:56 am #62760I found it at this website: http://www.labnol.org/software/tutorials/keep-window-always-on-top/
Download link is in the middle where it says Dropbox.
December 3, 2012 at 1:27 am #62761For myself I live in the same timezone as Fraser and the gang so most of the times they have for a show I’m able to watch and be on the chat. I go to College and I also work but strangely this term my schedule has been more open for me to watch the show. I do occasionally do my homework during a show but I have it on the background and not on chat a whole lot. There have been times I’ve missed some shows because of work but I always have time to watch them when they upload. Just hoping for next year my schedule is still good to watch the shows live.
December 3, 2012 at 2:21 am #62764i live in england so most the shows happen in the early hours of the mourning for me…. i have very few obligations at 2am
December 3, 2012 at 2:22 am #62765I’m in a totally different time zone so I don’t get to watch all the live shows, and when I do I’m usually sleeping less because of it, But I don’t regret it.
I have time to watch the recorded ones, I’m the type of person that I like to watch videos while I do other stuff, so VGA is perfect for that. I almostevery day have some VGA episode playing while I’m on computer/drawing/whatever :)
December 3, 2012 at 12:34 pm #62801Recently I started to watch more and more of the live shows. I live in Lithuania, so it’s about midnight when the show starts and it’s a perfect time to watch it. Usually I watch a first hour and if it’s not that interesting I go to sleep and maybe watch it some time later. But if they are playing a game I’m excited about or if it’s Show and Trailer I stay awake all night. There were like only three or four live shows I watched from beginning to end, because to stay awake all night is easier said than done.
Still, watching VGA at night or in late evening is perfect. I don’t have to sacrifice my social life and I have plenty of time to get the shit done for tomorrow. Sleeping is overrated anyways, I feel much more accomplished after watching VGA than after laying 8 hours in a bed doing nothing.
December 3, 2012 at 2:57 pm #62817Being on the east coast, you’d think it would be hard for me to catch live shows. However, I work overnight so I can usually having it streaming on the twitch app while I work. As much as I love watching live, I like watching the next day more. I like to be able to back up on a funny moment, or to read a chat comment that I missed.
I haven’t made that turbo contribution as of yet, so I don’t get to interact. That will be happening after the holidays, so being able to chat during live shows may make me try to catch them more often.
December 6, 2012 at 9:45 pm #63131It’s quite simple actually, I just fail all my classes.
December 7, 2012 at 11:24 am #63167I always have it on in the background while at work. I’m fortunate enough to have a job that doesn’t restrict such things.
If the show is much later in the day, I’m watching at home while cooking/eating dinner, or playing a game that doesn’t have a story that would need my full engagement.
December 7, 2012 at 12:30 pm #63177I live in Idaho in the US so i’m only an hour ahead of VGA so watching their streams is really easy. I also do school and work but i just watch missed recorded episodes that are long that i fall asleep to. And i just get all of my homework done and i only work part time so got a good amount of free time during the whole week so i fill it with video games and VGA of course.
December 7, 2012 at 2:44 pm #63190UK student with a schizophrenic internet connection. It’s very hit and miss.
