Hey guys I need help on an idea item for TF2!
All i need is a modeler and someone that knows the workshop well!
My idea is a can of oil for the engie!
That when thrown it can heal or make his buildings faster/ not sure on the negative side though
Just picture an engie with a can of oil in his hand like mad milk or something!
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK AND IF YOU CAN HELP! THX!

The downside would be having no secondary gun, wrangle, or zapper. The +side would be revealing spies, and destroying sappers from long distance.
August 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm #47120Downside. This would have a lower chance of making it into the game since it would require new animation. The model would be very easy to make though

August 10, 2012 at 2:50 pm #47142dont worry castle if by chance i does get into the game youll get your sparkles haha.. and retro a new animation would be a big no no?
August 10, 2012 at 3:43 pm #47155Currently they don’t accept custom animations from contributors and I’ve heard they prefer items that require no extra work asset wise. Not a guarantee it will not make it, just a notch against it.
August 10, 2012 at 4:21 pm #47159i understand but just a question (and you probably know more than me) i took a course this year of video game design, so dont they already have plenty of throwing animations? all they have to do is very little arm movement and just place the animation on the engie? or am i way off
August 10, 2012 at 5:18 pm #47165Some newer game engines have new tools that can transpose animation from one skeleton to another without deformation but TF2 isn’t one of them. So for weapons that need new animations they need to create them for both the character rig and first person hand rigs. Plus you have to code these new animation calls into the game.
I’m currently in dev on a game project [shameless plug] but I might see about making this if I can get to Phills backpack first.
