Hey guys, i got a friend invite from Ninjachu, a fellow turbo. He sent me a fake steam forum link, with n’s instead of m’s in community and told me to log in, i spotted this and called him out on it. he immediately unfriended me. He asked: “Have you seen that thing about you on the forums?”
BEWARE and Ninjachu, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD
Edit: Apparently it is a person who just mimics him, not actually ninja’s account.

Well I just ran into this guy just now. Whta it looked like was someone made an account identical to Ninjachu (changing to the same name and using the same profile pic.) doesn’t look like he hacked Ninjachu’s account but just mimicked it. But maybe thank about changeing your password anyway

FYI http://steamcommunity.com/id/3tgdsasf2rfsdegh/ is the account that is scamming, and has appeard to move on from ninjachu, might aswell file an abuse report i guess,

The guy does not impersonate certain people, he just takes someone from the friend list of the victim and renames himself to it.
To check whether it’s really your friend, just click on the arrow and go to the profile. You can see the names he used in the past.

i do not know if this is the same account yet he has moved on to a more friendly seemin aproach with the user name Hi. he is apperently in the minecraft awesum steam group and tried the link -http://steamglobal.gegahost.net/- THIS FAKE DONT USE IT. so if you see that link pop up DONT click report the one tryin to make you visit it aswell

I just got this twice. First from Nemesis9173, then from Darkavenger005. Sadly, I only have proof of Darkavenger’s actions.

Either way, these two should not be trusted with whatever this thing is.

Does nothing happen? Is it a fake steam page where it tricks you in sending the password?

It’s an ongoing phishing scam; so they get your info and then can use your account to continue to scam others. It’s good practice to be careful clicking links anyway, even from friends, so I’d say that esp right now if you get something like that even from someone you know, contact them another way before clicking to verify it’s legit from them.
