    Can we have 3 or 4 servers of this running for today? I do want to be able to play and I dont know how long this mode lasts.

    looking at the Merc section, Valve pretty much made a new TF2 game. So, one can say that TF2 is going to stay around for a long time if they continue doing big updates like this.

    It will only stick around so long as we don’t let the Machines Win! For the safety of all of Team Fortress we must stop them…wait. If we do defeat them, what happens then? Our two teams will have no reason to fight one another anymore…

    I share your suspicions. I personally wonder if they’ll spawn a crate series like they do for many events. I can see them doing something similar to the pyroland update where we find piles of robot chunks and pull out a little iron crate or something to that effect.

    I just noticed that in the Bloodbrothers comic they talk about a 150 year war. That means that the age of TF2 is now in the modern time and not in the 50′s anymore. I don’t know if I’m kicking in open doors for others but I thought I’d share it :)

    Gangstahwezel: The comic mentions that the war between Red and Blu has been going on for 100 years and that Gray Mann waited for 150 years. He was born in 1822, so the comic takes place in 1972 which is actually slightly later than the events of TF2 itself (see the first page saying it’s set in the future).

    TF2 itself has pretty much always been set in the ’60s, the TF2 wikipedia says 1968, looks like the calendars that pop up in spawn rooms have that year written on them.

    So yeah, the MvM update is moving the game forward in time a bit, but I’m afraid it’s only into the ’70s, not present day.
