Animals don’t spawn anywhere other than newly generated chunks. If you need animals you’ll need to guide them to the area and breed them for more.

OK I’m an idiot and didnt see this so I made a forum for my question and I am sorry about that if you want to delete the forum I posted thats fine. Anyway, my question is related to 1.3 I know that we can write books in 1.3 and that there is going to be a new formula to make books with Leather and paper instead of just paper. However, if we made books in 1.2 in anticipation for 1.3 are we going to be able to write in those books in 1.3? Or have I wasted my time making all these books?

Wred, I assume whatever books you’ve crafted will still be the same item in 1.3 (there won’t be a distinction between a book from 1.2 or 1.3). You won’t be able to write in them though. What you write in is the Book and Quill, which is crafted with one of the books you’re making + an ink sac + a feather (if the recipe doesn’t change).

We’re not Mojang, but I would be very surprised if the old books would somehow not work.

hey there. for some reason i cannot connect to the minecraftawesome server. whenever i try i get this:

Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

does anyone have any idea how to fix this? would be awesome if you could help me ^^

PS: it’s probably something really simple that i’m too dumb to figure out. most of my problems usually are like that…

Last I remember reading is animals do spawn, though very rarely. They’re not something I’d camp out for.

Quick question about Nether Portals. Since the nether on this server is at a 1:1 ratio, if I find a Nether Fort and put a portal down near it will that warp me to the same X,Y,Z coordinates in the main map?

If you want to make 2 portals link up then yes, you have to put them in the same coordinates in both dimensions.
