I would suggest either Dead Space (for single-player and seriousness) or Left 4 Dead (for co-op and semi-humorous nature). Both give a contrast of a “Halloween” type game and they would fit whatever style they would like to celebrate Halloween in.
August 16, 2012 at 4:14 pm #48279What about SCP containment breach?
August 16, 2012 at 7:17 pm #48308I honestly don’t think Slender or SCP are interesting enough to be on the show. Neither of them are all that interesting or scary. SCP in particular, which is just plain boring.
Games like Amnesia and Shaterred Memories do the whole being chased and having no way to fight back thing much much better. With the bonus of the games in general being far more interesting
August 16, 2012 at 7:43 pm #48310Lone Survivor, really creepy silent hill style survival horror game, about 4-6 hours long with a couple of different endings, awesome retro style, and best of all it’s only $10

August 16, 2012 at 9:18 pm #48328Slender! Also maybe Fatal Frame III? It would be fun if they did a throw back of snes and nes horror games with something like a Zombies Ate my Neighbors Co-op. Other then that all of the ones I would suggest, were suggested.
August 16, 2012 at 9:43 pm #48337Slender would be fun for a indie encore. So a short twenty minutes of gameplay. I want Deadly Premonition and possibly RE5. They did say there would be significantly less longhauls of single player games.
August 16, 2012 at 9:58 pm #48340SCP Containment Breach is running from a monster (so I’ve been told)
August 17, 2012 at 4:55 am #48370Okay I just looked up SCP Containment Breach and I suppose that could be ok if played on the same night as Slender as an encore.
The reason I got confused is because theres another game called SCP that’s just you running down a flight of stairs for 20 minutes. You occasionally see a shadow and thats really about it.
August 17, 2012 at 7:48 am #48379I would like to see them return to luigi’s mansion too. Maybe they could come back to it every halloween and begrudgingly finish it.
August 17, 2012 at 8:39 am #48385I’d love to see them play the standard stuff, you know, Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2. That jazz.
Oh and I could choose something they shouldn’t play…it would be Slender. That is so overdone and boring.
August 17, 2012 at 1:35 pm #48411Slender seems to be very divisive, but I found the scares in Slender to be more effective than in games like Amnesia. The audio is very good and the combination of severe disorientation and fatigue you start to feel really helpless which ups the tension. Of course Amnesia is a much more substantial experience than Slender and they couldn’t devote a whole show to it, but I think it’s worth them playing in case they happen to like it.
August 17, 2012 at 2:03 pm #48422Defenitly the Dead Space series! Maybe Silent Hill, no RE, I think RE isn’t a game that’s good for the show. For something else: Games like amnesia or slender are always fun ;D
August 17, 2012 at 2:39 pm #48423I would like to see them play any disturbing games (a game that makes you take like Aaahw no way)
but to ay knowledge there aren’t anyyou guys know any disturbing games that make you go like Aaahw no way
August 17, 2012 at 3:54 pm #48434With regards to the Silent Hill thing, Silent Hill 1-4 (especially 2) may not be ideal for the show, they have a reliance on the player’s sense of lonliness to create a general chill that lasts throughout the games which I think would really clash with the multiple host set up of VGA. There’s also matters such as the awkward combat which makes perfect sense within the context of the game but will only make the show more of a chore for Fraser.
I second Condemned: Criminal Origins which has a very bleak atmosphere but a level of intensity that keeps your heart pounding throughout the levels as well as some of the strongest single moments of horror I’ve seen in a 360 game.
August 17, 2012 at 4:33 pm #48437Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem.
I said enough.
