That’s why I suggested they play Shattered Memories. It has no combat whatsoever, instead the player has to run and hide. The game isn’t too difficult, the puzzles are simple and fun. Also, the Story is absolutely amazing. Seriously, it’s my favourite story in any videogame I’ve ever played.
I also want to say again that I think Metroid Fusion could make for an interesting and unique game amongst the rest of the expected Halloween games they’ll probably play.
It has so many well executed horror-esque moments (SAX being the best) that it’s definitely worth a try, even if they only do it for one show.August 17, 2012 at 4:46 pm #48441My vote goes to Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem; and Penumbra: Overture and Penumbra: Black Plague (Penumbra: Requiem, no thanks).
Great games and perfect for the show.
August 17, 2012 at 9:34 pm #48484Rise of Nightmares, the crappy horror Kinect game.
Eternal Darknes, although they got spoiled on last year’s Minecarft Halloween…
Four player Nightmare on Elm Street NES, Fraser mentioned it quite some time ago or Friday the 13th.
Fraser might want to play some games released on October also, 3 Minecraft shows…..jesus…
August 18, 2012 at 8:38 am #48526Shattered Memories would be great. Lots of characters to make fun of, lots of random shit to play with and gameplay that balances fun, tension and frage.
August 18, 2012 at 9:27 am #48532they need to head back through Binding of Isaac and Left 4 Dead 2 again (maybe Deathcraft?)
Other than those, i don’t know any scary games.
Psychonauts is Supernatural, so i suppose that would be a good fit
August 18, 2012 at 9:30 am #48533I would only agree with Binding of Isaac because of the expansion. Aside from covering the new stuff (and granted there is a lot; but they wouldn’t even see it all anyway) there isn’t much more to show. It’s still the same game.
August 18, 2012 at 2:17 pm #48563I think the reason people really want them to go back to Binding of Isaac is to hear more horrible childhood memories. Especially from Deacon….
August 18, 2012 at 2:58 pm #48568I remember them saying once that they would play Eversion, and I still think it could be a good show. It’s a very short indie game, so it would work well as an indie encore.
I do have a giftable copy of the game on steam, so I could provide the game if it would be played =].
August 18, 2012 at 6:35 pm #48616Scary games wont really work unless for games like Slender they change things up like they have only 1 person in the room at a time. Sure this is COMPLETELY different or just have fraser do a lonesome first then him and a co-host plays and they switch out every time they lose. Slender is a game that is extremely easy to make not scary (look at lanipator’s lp of it) and the group being together will make it not scary… cept maybe to becky lol and it can be over pretty quickly.
Also its not like they have to play scary games they did Costume Quest last year and thats not at all either is Binding of Isaac… or dead space. And i dont feel like tank control games are gonna work with frash frash so Silent Hill and RE are out of the picture… maybe some fatal Frame?
August 18, 2012 at 7:31 pm #48621I agree. While Slender could be interesting to try out with VG Lonesome, it simply wouldn’t work as a normal show. Same with the different SCP games.
As for RE, I mostly agree with you. While most of the games wouldn’t make for interesting shows, I feel like Co-op RE5 could be fun for an episode.
And as for Silent Hill, I know I’ve mentioned this a lot in this thread (you have no idea how much I want them to play it), but Shattered Memories is the perfect Silent Hill game for the show. It controls extremely well, has very unique player choice mechanics (kinda similar to Left4dead’s AI Director) that could make for a great show. Also as someone else said, plenty of weird characters for them to have fun with.
And yea, Fatal Frame could be good too!
August 18, 2012 at 8:08 pm #48626yeah ive played Shattered memories i agree it would work better for the show… although we all know the girl is gonna be the sexy version with fraser playing
August 18, 2012 at 8:26 pm #48629Eternal Darkness seems like a good game for Halloween
Also in VGA Halloween Fraser said he would play it this year.

August 19, 2012 at 12:58 am #48645It’d be great if they could find ways to play Gregory Horror Show (PS2, it has a character named Neko!) or Sweet Home (NES, granddaddy of Resident Evil), but chances are slim considering their release regions…
August 19, 2012 at 1:03 am #48647Oh God yes Ramrod, Gregory Horror Show would be great, a host of weird characters and brilliant puzzles, I think it would make a good show. Love that game so much.
August 19, 2012 at 7:05 am #48668I’d like to suggest IB and Ao Oni. :o I think it would be a great use of Fraser’s voice acting and the games are pretty creepy.
Also I’ve wanted to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Shadow of Chernobyl but I’m not sure if it’s good or not.
I do agree with Penumbra and Shattered Memories though.-
