Show Suggestions

Since the gang are having fun with games like Witcher and Dragon’s Dogma I’ve got a few fantasy-genre game ideas for the show that might have faster gameplay than your typical grind and quest rpgs.

1. The Bard’s Tale

Feels like the premise would appeal to Fraser. I don’t think it has alot of the arduous side missions of other rpgs, but I might be wrong since it’s been a while since I’ve played this. Gameplay involves the bard summoning allies that fight with him as he quests for coin and cleavage.

2. Overlord I+II

Chance to be an evil overlord, order minions around, sex-jays, this feels like it’d be a popular choice. For gameplay you have the option to hack and slash with your overlord or direct your goblinoids around to do the fighting for you. From what I remember the gameplay is pretty fast since you can have your minions gather loot for you instead of having to walk and pick it up yourself. Oh, and in the second you can have a harem.

3. Diablo Franchise

Probably the most mainstream of my suggestions and likely the hardest to impliment for the show. It could probably work if they level-grinded/got turbos to level-grind for them between sessions and if turbos could collect enough gear for them that they’d never have to slow down on the show. I like the idea of VGA playing a game with a dark storyline and hellish level designs and reacting to it/trolling it up. They’d probably want to start with Diablo II or III then, though, because I remember most of Diablo I’s story being added retroactively. Someone could just fill Fraser in on any important details.

Since they liked skullgirls I think they’d like Vanguard Princess…. but I don’t think they can stream PC games so they can’t put it on the show.

Actually, couldn’t they get together in Battle net with a few Turbos who have some ridiculously badass Diabloslayer characters and carry them through the game with buffs and such.

Probably would only work for a short sneak-peak. cause especially in Hell, with the wrong monsters in the wrong spots its…well hellish. Or i am just a dumb noob and mess up my skills to bad each time i try to make it to Diablo…cause i only made that in D1…and my mouse was done for afterwards.

I had thought of that, though I was trying to make sure my idea would still come off as a game instead of a diablo ‘minecraft build’. Leveling off the monsters in the act they’re playing and wearing gear for their level wouldn’t break the game. Though it would be fun in its own way to see Fraser carried through like that: “Wow, this game is really easy. And on super-fraser-mode, too. I must just be MLG!”

Still, Diablo’s the least favorite of my show suggestions. The Overlord franchise especially would fit VGA better. I just proposed a way that the game could be played by them because it’d be fun to see it on the show and their reactions to fighting through hell and the like. There’s also the option of playing it Minecraft-style, so that everyone in the group gets to play, though Diablo doesn’t have the same player screen charm that Minecraft does so not seeing the hosts might be a deterrent.

I really would like them to play the Yakuza games. The combat is pretty simple and if I remember well there is a Fraser Mode. There’s a lot of cutscenes but they are usually pretty hilarously cheezy and I’m sure someone on the show could make some jokes about them. Since 1 and 2 are on PS2, and probably pretty hard to find, I guess they could skip them and there are videos that you can watch in Yakuza 3 to remind you of what happenned in the first two games.

May I recommend “Buzz!”, “Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mystery of Little Riddle”, “Hot Shots Golf”, “Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing”, “Split/Second”, “Shoot Many Robots”, or “Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars” to use on 4-Player Fridays.

Timesplitters series. Each show, do a few campaign missions, then conclude with some multiplayer. Like Four Swords. Plenty of costume opportunities.

I would like to see more Dragons Dogma… but i really want them to play Bully Scholarship Edition. To amount of material for Bully would be great. Its one of my favorite games and Rockstar said they are making a sequal. This game would make a great Long Haul

I would realy like them to play more Zelda games. MM, OoT and TP are all games I realy would like them to play. P.S 300 posts! Woho! :D
