July 12, 2012 at 11:33 am #42339Lame that the sale on Arma 2 is only 20%. For those who are planning on getting it, for DayZ or something, you can get a better deal on the game company’s store: https://store.bistudio.com/.

July 12, 2012 at 2:04 pm #42382So from what I’ve been told the best strategy for any individual game is to wait until the last day. Pack deals will never change so they can be bought at any time but individual games may become a daily deal or go down meaning if you’re after specific games there’s no reason to buy early.
Sooooo i’m going to wait and hope for a daily deal on Arma 2 and Max Payne. Very tempted on Shogun 2 though as that’s already at 75% and unlikely to go lower.
July 12, 2012 at 4:07 pm #42400I would not recommend buying anything unless its on front page till the last day because you never know if it is going to be a daily deal for even cheaper then it is right now.

Hidden sale games, if you go to the top comment there’s a link to each one. Nothing huge but a few good one’s in there. The entire Bit Trip series is at 75%.
I’m considering getting S.T.A.L.K.E.R

There will most likely be a WAY better deal later on. My general rule of thumb is if it is 30$ or more wait until it is at least around 60% off.
But given its popularity it will probably go down in price and this is just a way to get the quicker people to jump on the current deal.
July 12, 2012 at 8:25 pm #42447MAN! This sale ha been awesome so far! I’m trying to pay only 50$ or less throughout this entire thing. So far I’ve spent 19$ and have gotten; Indie Bundle 1 (i only wanted 2 games and they added up 11$ so i got the pack for 10$)Legend of Grimrock for 6$ and Pokernight at the inventory.
Me gusta.
July 12, 2012 at 9:25 pm #42459Goddamnit i caved and got Saints Row 3 for 12.49, the deal ends in less than 2.5 hours so if you’re looking to get it you should go check it out! (Maybe we could play some time)
They also have the dlc bundle at 25$
July 13, 2012 at 11:41 pm #42665I’m laughing at Steam’s “Community Choice” picker. There an issue somewhere in the algorithm I guess (attachment):

Aaah what to do, wasn’t max payne a daily deal yesterday? and now it’s gone down even more? eep I don’t know whether to pull the trigger on getting it now or not.
EDIT: http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/en/pc/games/action/metro-2033/ Metro 2033 for the price it would have been had it won the community choice! activates through steam.
July 14, 2012 at 1:09 am #42681Hmm. Not sure if Max Payne will go down any more than it is… The Flash Sales and Community Choice ones don’t seem to be games that sell at $60 normally. Not really sure though. If they’re a Daily Deal, and if you can afford it without shutting yourself out of other possible games you want, and you really want to play it, then I’d say go for it since they probably won’t be popping up as a Community Choice or Flash Sale (I’m not 100% on this but its my assumption form what I have seen so far). When it gets to about the “$40 normally” price range though, you might be able to get them cheaper by waiting (but it’ll be a gamble if it shows up or not).
For games I have on my wishlist, instead of picking them up for whatever discount they normally may be going at (like from 20 down the 13), I check the Flash Sales and Community Choices hoping it’ll show up there for an even bigger discount. If it doesn’t show, I’ll just buy it the last day of sales if I really want it. Picked up Alice and Darksiders for $5 instead of the $13 they’re discounted at normally (and the $20 they’re worth without the discounts) that way.
Edit in response to your edit: Very nice find =)
