I’ve been thinking about it a lot since they created Saints Duck. I’ve come up with my personal head-canon XD.
The first significant sighting of the Ducks were in a region that is now Eastern Europe. This was NeanderDuck. [Insert Dragon's Dogma story]. Many generations later, after immigrating to the city of Stilwater, “Saints Duck” joined a gang, the “Third Street Saints”. [Insert the Saints Row 1, 2, and 3 stories]. This Duck’s great great Grand Daughter would be Space Duck. After her parents died (gang violence? They were Saints, possible fall of the Saints), she grew up on the rough streets of Earth (Steelport?). Then, of course, [insert Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3].
Also, all Ducks are named Hank.
I imagine that this would all surface from someone researching Space Duck’s family history to make some sort of Duck museum some time after ME3.
July 21, 2012 at 9:04 am #44195I like to believe that everytime we see NeanderDuck or Saints Duck that means Space Duck got into the animus from Assassins Creed, since Space Duck is, atleast so far, the most futuristic duck in the family tree.
It kinda leaves you wondering too who are the next ancestors of Space Duck that we are going to meet in future games.
July 21, 2012 at 10:18 am #44222They could also be from alternate dimensions. Maybe Space Duck is actually the first Duck and the others where created from her cell by Cerberus and sent through some unknown mass effect gate. Since they are uglier, they could even be secret failure before making the perfect Sheppard. Who Knows what is the real story of those twisted pawn throwing ketchup’ing hot-dog renegade punching Ducks!

Let’s not forget their close family friends, the Tigerlily’sYes, the Tigerlily’s were always beside the Ducks throughout history, just like the old saying states “Where there is a Duck, there is bound to be a Tigerlily”.
July 21, 2012 at 7:22 pm #44307I was always under the impression that Neanderduck or Homo Anatidae were a seperate species of hominid that gradually interbred with humans (Recent discoveries of cave paintings the suggest the prehistoric humans complied out of fear)until the two were indestinguishable, although every few generations individuals with strong Anatidae facial characteristics show up. The Anatidae genes however are now carried only in the XX chromosome meaning only Females can be distinctively shown to be part Anatidae, and no Male anatidae have been seen since their homogenisation with the rest of humanity. Thats what I learned in School anyway.
July 21, 2012 at 8:30 pm #44317I meant to add in a bit about Tigerlily, and how he’s really the same Pawn from Dragon’s Dogma, immortal, and the zombie talk is a language only the Ducks can understand XD. Died at the same time as Space Duck’s parents, which is why you don’t see his beautiful face in Mass Effect times.
July 21, 2012 at 10:53 pm #44339I really want them to play more games with character customization so we can continue adding to the history of these two.
July 21, 2012 at 10:55 pm #44340One day….if i ever learn how to program games….i WILL make a VGA fighting game…..and these characters will definitely be in it
July 22, 2012 at 11:34 am #44436This needs to be documented. Just like how Nintendo came out with Hyrule Historia to explain the Zelda time lines, there needs to be a Duck-Family Genealogy that lays out the proud noble heritage of the Ducks.
I mean, Saints Duck has a sweet sweet behind, that is pretty absent from the other Ducks. Could it be that Miranda Lawson (Mass Effect) is actually part Duck? I mean, if I recall correctly, we never see her mother. Could it be that her mother was a duck?!?! o_O Now we know why she can’t be romanced by Space Duck!
July 22, 2012 at 11:50 am #44439It was during the first day of MAN. A beautiful woman was swayed by probably the manliest duck the world has ever seen. She could not resist this pinnacle of feathered testosterone, and she gave birth the worlds first WOMAN DUCK. Though this creature was female, but was strong and daring. It became the first ever female creature to become the Alpha Male of it’s tribe.
The duck man’s genes are so powerful, when having a child with a non duck, they over power the human genes, making it that all duck men be duck looking females, however, they still prefer woman over men for mating partners, only choosing a male when they wish to reproduce….and when it’s really kinky like with Garrus.
All duck men family tree is filled with heroes and conquers. There have been Dragon hunters, mob bosses, and galactic soldiers.July 22, 2012 at 11:57 am #44443I like to think that the duck line’s first names are Hank too, and that their surname is Belmont. Duck is the overall clan they belong to, with the most prestigious line consisting of Belmont Ducks.

July 25, 2012 at 12:52 am #44892Major Ivana Ducko, close relative of Major Ivan Danko (look it up), fought valiantly against the invading Nazi forces in defense of the Motherland. After the War she settled down and had a family. Some time later one of her many Duck daughters emigrated to Steelport, where she eventually had a daughter we know today as Saints Duck…
That’s all i can think of for now. Too tired.
