Ok I honestly don’t want to toot my own horn here (that may not be the actual saying, but catch me caring), but I figured I might as well make a forum topic of this just in case.

For those who do not know there is a small group of people that hang out in the twitch chat during the day in between shows. As such we constantly get bombarded with people asking “when’s the next show” about every 15 minutes. One night I got fed up and said “Fuck this shit I’m making a countdown timer so people can look at that instead of pestering me about this”. And so I did.

In short This is the unofficial official countdown timer for VGA shows: http://vgatimer.toonhawk.com

As it says on the site I update it the moment I hear when the next show is. I’m trying to spread the word on this because there is a clear need for this sort of thing. We’ve been spreading this link around in the chat, but I figured I might as well post it here, again, just in case.

Also Codemite has made a neat FAQ page about the chat for anyone interested. I’ll link that too for good measure (even though it’s on this forum) http://videogamesawesome.com/forums/topic/chatroom-faq-and-useful-links/

that’s pretty neat; I think I remember seeing something like that on JTV before they switched to Twitch. Having a countdown timer is very helpful.

weird i thought you had a topic for this already. It would be better if we could make the message you get when you enter chat (MOTD?)

there has not been a topic on this before. At least I didn’t make one, I am sure of that.

Yes there was a timer before but it wasn’t really used often, ie. Fraser rarely updated it. That’s kinda the origin of the “lazy bum” comment further down the page.
