Why? Who the hell thought friend codes are a great idea? No one likes them…..godammit….I blame Slykat anyways…
June 12, 2012 at 6:47 pm #37112For the record, I have nothing against friend codes and I think the way people vilify them is exagerated. Still, they mentionned that they are not the same format than the ones used for the Wii, DS and 3DS so until we get more details, complaining might be pointless. Considering how little we know, they could be more like the codes in Battle.net.
June 13, 2012 at 2:22 am #37157I think there want us to be safe using the friend codes…that I think

June 13, 2012 at 3:46 am #37162I would actually prefer the friend code system, if its done right this time. I would like it if you could message and befriend people without knowing their friend code. But make the exchange of friend codes a requirement for people to send game invitations and the miiverse picture thingy.
That would be a nice balance IMO. And please give us only ONE code this time, and not one for the system and seperate ones for different games. That was just stupid.
June 13, 2012 at 5:24 am #37169My ideas of what it is;
1) Like steam where you set up an account name,but can change your “mii” name all the time. So it will be like changing your online name on steam.
2) It is linked to your Club Nintendo account..which stinks because my name on there is poop :(June 13, 2012 at 5:39 am #37171nightshade:

Lucky Kagaroo -_-
June 14, 2012 at 5:13 am #37279As long as it’s free, i’m okay with this. I still remember how people in these forums were saying that it’ll be better than XBL and how Reggie confirmed that….anyway….
June 14, 2012 at 8:25 am #37293One thing I’m curious about, since we’re on the subject of their online system, is will they start putting out demos for their games? That was one of my biggest gripes with the Wii, especially considering its use of motion controls. With the WiiU, they really should give the user a chance to feel out how the game pad will interact with a game before buying the product.
I still don’t get the friend code thing though. It might be tolerable if they don’t make it as complicated as it was on the Wii; but still I would much prefer being able to choose a username, or at least some sort of word that is easily remembered. It’s like remembering the police ID in Phoenix Wright. I can’t do it!
