can’t remember a specific game, but my first gaming platform was the Commodore Vic-20. Many of the games were arcade ripoffs so I cannot recall whether I played it in an arcade first or on the machine. In those days you only needed 3.5KB of memory, and no one would ever need more.

they totally destroyed their indie credentials with that decision didn’t they? :) fortunately i am too old and slow to play hard mode on anything so it didn’t affect me.

i wouldn’t rate it that highly because it is basically the same as the previous one – an on rails shooter where most of the choices are predetermined and there are a lot of timed set pieces. don’t get me wrong, it looks fantastic graphically and i would love them to do a free roaming version, but basically it is an indy CoD.

did it work for DS3? i thought its sales overall were low and i know its a game i skipped because of all the changes they made to make it a dlc sponge. i also skipped all the ME3 paid stuff, but that was more to do with losing interest after seeing the ending.

any game which requires pointers from the chat to progress is probably unsuitable for the show. Just to cite one example, in the Bioshock play through Fraser stopped Becky looking at the chat all the time for log locations because he wanted natural reactions to the game rather than the top of her head!

well the only criteria you can judge on is your own, and the thread title specifically says ‘you’. also this argument flips between philosophy and pragmatism. Personally i take the pragmatic view and perfection is what i think is the very best of what has been actually made during my gaming career, not some unachievable ideal which would never be realised.

i wonder if Origin is the clue to what will happen in the movie industry as well. uPlay is offering 3rd party games, and Origin has (apparently) said they want to as well. Perhaps as the movie companies realise they cannot offer enough for a loyal subscriber base they might start making deals to offer each other’s catalogue.
