• It’s actually really depressing that she still uses Mr. Hat, even all this time after what happened. Yikes.

True, while I don’t think Apollo Justice is top-notch as far as Ace Attorney games go, the OST is superb. Probably one of the best aspects of it, along with the sprite work. You can really tell it was the first original DS Ace Attorney.…[Read more]

Yeah, I was honestly hoping for more original stories, but it’s hard to stray from the main plot. That, and the section between “Turnabout Goodbyes” and “Reuinion, and Turnabout” was always ripe for extra content being added, even in the games. I wouldn’t exactly call the children’s scribbles in the anime opening a “time paradox” though. More of a…[Read more]

  • Probably the one thing that almost made up for Turnabout Goodbyes was what came after that, though. By which I mean Turnabout Promise. More info for the classroom trial and the actual friendship between Phoenix, Edgeworth and Larry. Yes please. Also like how they did a bit of homework and gave Franziska a riding crop instead of the whip. Next…[Read more]

  • I agree, the anime certainly stumbled a bit, with its adaptation of “Turnabout Goodbyes”. The music was on point (specifically, “Reminiscence: The Dl-6 Incident”) and they actually took the initiative to go into Yanni Yogi’s backstory a bit more, like the live-action Ace Attorney movie. But some parts were just…nope. Using von Karma for comedic…[Read more]

  • At the end of the show, people were citing that the reason Apollo Justice might be considered one of the weaker Ace Attorney games is because it was rushed. I was merely stating that Apollo Justice wasn’t rushed, and that the game ends “like this” (as in, leaving a few important things unresolved, etc) because the general opinion is that the game…[Read more]

  • It did kind of suck for Sven, to be honest. On Capcom-Unity, like you said, he took a lot of unwarrented heat from raging fans screaming for Investigations 2 and was constantly having to explain the situation and bring up sales data (like how Investigations sold like arse in general, doing worse than titles like Okamiden). I can understand their…[Read more]

  • If that’s the case, I certainly can’t remember them. The only major plot threads in Apollo Justice are the circumstances behind Phoenix’s disbarment (which gets resolved in the game), Troupe Gramarye (with most of it being wrapped up in AJ, and pretty much finishing with what we see in a later entry), and Apollo/Trucy being half-siblings, with…[Read more]

  • To be honest, if they wanted to act like Apollo Justice didn’t happen, they could have simply done that and left him and everything introduced in AJ out of future games. But in Dual Destinies/Spirit of Justice, we’ve still got Apollo and Trucy, the Wright Anything Agency is still a thing, Phoenix’s disbarment is mentioned as having took place,…[Read more]

  • Christian Svensson will be sorely missed. He was the one who introduced the interview/Q + A feature on Capcom-Unity, which is how we actually found out about the situation with Ace Attorney Investigations 2. He was pretty much “our inside guy” when it came to Capcom and Ace Attorney. Having internals conversations about the series and how to…[Read more]

  • As long as you go into the crossover with the knowledge that it’s pretty much Phoenix and Maya in the Layton world, it’s not too bad. But like every other Layton game, it’s a bit more slower-paced than the average Ace Attorney, has quite a bit of voice acting, and requires you to solve a certain number of puzzles before you can advance the plot,…[Read more]

  • Just managed to catch the end of the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney show, and the end discussion about the series got me intrigued enough to make this. Hopefully I can clear up Frash/Becky and anyone else’s thoughts about a few things that were talked about at the end, there.

I wouldn’t say I dislike Apollo Justice, either. The first case is certainly top tier as far as first cases go, probably the best one. It’s just certain parts of the game, and certain parts of the cases that are quite meh. Still a very decent game, just the worst main series AA game.

One thing that Apollo Justice has an edge on over the trilogy,…[Read more]

Just got rid of it entirely. They’ll see for themselves.

Case 2 kind of begins to introduce one of the major reasons why people dislike Apollo Justice compared to the trilogy, or any game in the series, honestly.

By which I mean the first defendant outside of the tutorial is a complete ass.

Regarding the murderer admitting the crime when there was no actual solid evidence, there IS a reason that this happened. I can’t say why, due to spoilers, of course. But let’s just say Case 1’s killer admitting their guilt isn’t because the writers couldn’t make up an ending. There’s a reason. It’s not so much to do with real life situations,…[Read more]
