I think they’re still trying to obscure the always online matter. If they want to avoid fees and control the used game market, then what other option is there but to require the player to connect to a server to verify that only one user was using a particular disk? So always online isn’t required, just if you want to play used games.

The only way I see this working for the studios is if they band together to offer a multi-studio subscription service. This won’t give any one studio the control they’re looking for, but at least they can determine the prices. I don’t see very many people paying for a single catalog.

You know, I couldn’t place the name to a face so I googled him. Google has two pictures of him, two pictures for the CEO of Nintendo. Both of which make him look like a mob boss. Can’t can’t much more out of the spotlight than that.
